The Strengthening and Stretching for Rheumatoid Arthritis of the Hand (SARAH) programme is an evidence-based hand exercise programme recommended by the NICE guidelines for the management of rheumatoid arthritis in adults.

A team of SARAH implementation researchers, clinicians, and information technology experts from the Centre for Rehabilitation Research in Oxford, University of Oxford have developed a simple online training course (iSARAH) to train NHS physiotherapists and occupational therapists to deliver the SARAH programme to their patients with rheumatoid arthritis.

iSARAH is provided free of charge, and an active NHS email address is required for course registration. iSARAH is made up of four simple instructional modules with exercise videos and illustrations, a section on frequently asked questions, and a self-assessment. A course certificate can be downloaded on successful completion of the training. iSARAH takes about 3-4 hours to complete.

Visit and enrol for iSARAH training.
