Notes
The following rules apply:
1. Applications can be made prior to the course or up to 3 months afterwards.
2. Applications are welcome from previous winners.
3. Applicants can apply for multiple bursaries funded by BAHT at any one time, but will only be awarded one bursary from BAHT every two years. Please note, there are no limitations as to how many times or how often you can apply for BSSH subsidised bursaries.
4. At the discretion of the executive committee, preference may be given to those who have not received a BAHT bursary before. Applications are marked anonymously, then one mark is deducted from the total of applicants who have received a BAHT bursary within the last 3 years.
5. Applications which are late, do not meet the required word count or do not meet the application criteria will not be judged.
6. The number of bursaries available may vary annually and may not always be awarded.
7. The marking panel reserves the right to determine the level of the award – this may not be the full value of the bursary or the amount applied for.
8. Applicants will not receive the bursary award in advance of the course/conference, except under exceptional circumstances. Applicants should contact the Director of Bursaries if they wish to make a claim for earlier funding and this will be considered on an individual basis. Funds will be paid when the post course report has been submitted and accepted by the Director of Bursaries.
9. Course places need to be secured by the applicant; BAHT will not arrange places.
10. Funding can be put towards course fees, travel and accommodation and/or subsistence costs.
11. Applicants will be sent an email to inform them of the outcome of the application. Successful applicants will be asked to sign and return an acceptance letter, stating that they agree with the terms and conditions of the award.
12. Unsuccessful applicants can resubmit an amended application for the next deadline.
13. The post-course bursary report must be submitted within one month following completion of the course. If accepted, this will be posted on the BAHT website.
14. Applicants must complete the expenses form provided, and provide receipts before payment is made.
15. The decision of the judging panel is final. BAHT will not enter into any further correspondence with the applicant.
16. If an award has not been made in a particular funding round, it may be rolled over to the next deadline.
